Throwing Picassos Juggling Show, Nebraska
The Throwing Picassos Juggling Show, is a performance troupe founded in 1999, by Mark Wilkening, Corey Hoelker, and Jeff Dixon. Both Corey and Jeff long ago went on to pursue their careers in architecture and patent law. Since then, Chad Lunders joined the troupe, bringing his talents as a musician and juggler that add a unique blend to the show!
During the past decade the troupe has enthusiastically pursued street performing venues of the midwest, namely in Chicago, Lincoln, and Omaha. In conjunction with the Univerisity of Nebraska Juggling Club and Lincoln City Jugglers, they recieved a grant, provided by the Lincoln Arts Council, that focused on teaching inner city kids fun healthful performance based skills, through juggling.
The current members of the Throwing Picassos, Mark and Chad, combine their antics of juggling, spoof magic, limited acrobatics, pastime novelties, musical accompaniment, and improv stories that gently coax audience members to participate as characters in lightly woven plots. They throw large silver colored trashcans, yoga balls, knives, clubs, and torches at each other. Standing stacked on top of each other while juggling and playing music is one of the often requested signature Throwing Picassos routines!
