KEVLAR (R) cord / string is used by many for sewing when building and/or repairing equipment. Some also use it for making fire-eating torches, as it is easily wrapped on and tied off. Our cord is between 1/16 in. (1.6mm) and 1/32 in. (0.8mm), depending on how tight it is pulled, and is made up of four (4) twisted fibers. The fibers are easy to un-twist, should you need a thinner piece to work with.

Priced and Sold by the foot.

I use this cord to create wicks for my alcohol stoves for camping. Very easy to work with.

The cord was thinner than I expected but I suppose it is what I ordered. It seems a bit thin for wrapping alcohol stoves but it works especially if you put two layers of it on to absorb more alcohol. I think this is thinner than what Tinny at Mini Bull Design uses.

I intend to use this cord for wrapping and priming my alcohol stove (as a wick), as hanging cord for a candle lantern, tie down cord for a tarp, and as repair cord or thread (by untwisting) for emergencies.

Great product. I used it to wrap part of the outside of an alcohol backpacking stove to serve as a priming wick. It works great.

This stuff is a dream come true for any props that need some mending. Just buy yourself some furniture needles (pack of three 8" buggers for 80 cents at walmart)and you can repair anything. Doesn't break like the thread does.
