Ball chain (a.k.a. ballchain, bead chain) is one of the most popular chains in modern firedancing. The primary reason is its ability to swivel at every link, meaning that using additional swivels is no longer critical, but it is also very light. The use of ball chain can contribute to good wraps, fewer tangles, and happier wrists.

With 5 types of ball chain available, we offer more styles than any other firedancing supplier. The chains we offer are nickel-plated steel (NPS), Type 304 stainless steel (SS), and blackened stainless steel (SSB) ball chains. All ball chain offerings are sufficient for firedancing, but please check your chains regularly, and see our Equipment Care section for suggestions.

Sold in a continuous length, priced per foot. If you need multiple cuts, you must purchase cut labor here: Custom Cuts.

I absolutely love my size #15 Blackened Stainless Steel Ball Chain. Yes, the enamel coating does tend to wear off between the balls, but the effect remains the same to observers. It also hurts a lot less than hitting myself with uncoated stainless steel. My only problem is that I love using them so much with my practice poi that I ended up buying a second set dedicated for fire spinning in order to keep things extra-safe.

The ball chain looks fantastic and makes spinning very easy. The weight is perfect. I trust the stainless steel #15 to hold up against everything I do.

I bought the blackened ball chain, it's high quality and works well (exactly what Erin says!), however the actual connectors from one ball to another do not keep their black color, the balls do, even close to the poi head, they still look great though

I've been using #15 stainless chain for a little over a year now for myself and for sets that I've made for others. I've never had a problem and it's held up to the extra weight of my 4" monkey fists just fine. Thanks!

I added #13 stainless steel ball chain (using steel quicklinks and ball chain connectors) to my glow poi, and the difference was immediate and amazing. No more tangling cords to frustrate my practices, and a bit more weight to my swing to more closely resemble my fire poi. I am going to add ball chain to all of my practice poi from now on.

I just bought this chain the week before Fall Wildfire and I love it. It is so much easier to wrap than link chain and each ball is like a swivel.
