MoonBlaze Fire Poi Heads are a Fire Mecca creation and the original spiral-weave fire poi heads that blend a good-sized flame with a burn time superior to that of Cathedral wicks of the same size. Medium MoonBlaze Fire Poi Heads have a burn time in the area of 7 minutes for lamp oil, and have similar physical properties to that of the Medium Duo-Fold Cathedral Fire Poi Heads in terms of wick material, dimensions, and weight/mass. The design, however, retains more fuel during spin-off and while burning, allowing for a more bell-shaped flame intensity over time; it takes a little longer to achieve full flame, but this flame lasts longer, and recedes more slowly. Standard MoonBlaze heads have no visible metal hardware on the bottom, and have a stainless steel attachment ring at the top.

MoonBlaze Fire Poi heads are approximately 2.25 inches in width. The wick height (just the KEVLAR(R) material), as well as the height with the standard attachment, can be derived from the following list:

Small: 2 in. tall (2.5 incl. attachment)
(comparable to competitors' basic or medium poi heads)
Medium: 3 in. tall (3.5 incl. attachment)
Large: 4 in. tall (4.5 incl. attachment)

Tiny (1 in.) and Extra-large (5 in.) are available as custom items

We also have several options concerning the connection points on MoonBlaze Fire Poi Heads:

  • Secondary Ring: For those wanting the option of attaching more poi heads (for double poi or triple poi), rings are installed on both the top and bottom of the head
  • Primary Swivel: A ball-bearing swivel is installed as the primary attachment, instead of a ring. This is a very common choice for technical fire poi dancers.
  • Hidden Sleeve: The cable sleeve that normally secures the cable at the top of the head can be placed internally, instead. This is a common option for those doing a lot of wraps with their fire poi, as the sleeve can bother skin, or for those who simply want to make their poi look a little more sleek.
  • Secondary Swivel: Similar to the Secondary Ring option, but one end has a ball-bearing swivel and the other has a ring. Available as custom item.

Fire poi heads come as a pair.

Being a spinner who likes a little extra weight to my poi, I love my 4" tall, 1 1/4" kevlar moonblazes. The weight makes stalls and slow manipulations seamless, and the burn time is spectacular also. Well done.

I bought the medium and small and love them both. Long lasting fire. Tight weave and great symmetry. The thicker wick is the way to go for durability. Very fine product. Will buy again and certainly would recommend it to friends.

These are fantastic wicks! I got the K2 1/8" 3" wicks with the standard hardware. Nice big fireball, lasts at least 5 minutes, maybe a little more. Very good value.

Very pleased with these! I got the 1/4" wick 3" heads with a swivel and they are awesome. They last at least 5 minutes, closer to 6, the flames are nice and large, and they aren't too heavy (though it still hurts when I whack myself in the head :/ ). I recommend these to anyone looking to invest in some good quality long lasting poi.

Excellent fire poi! Perfect size for a beginner like me (I got smalls). Burn time and flame were also very nice. These will be my second set. The old heads are still going strong a year later, just needed another set. The second set had a circular ring instead of the rounded rectangle, which I like better. Otherwise a good fire head.

My husband and I burn professionally and don't really buy wicks from anywhere else. These are light, well-made, and have very long burn times for the weight.

the head broke about a month after buying. the guys/girls at fire mecca are amazing at fixing and sending back. I only got a chance to light them once but I'm happy with the way they spin.

AMAZING poi heads! I bought the smalls and was extremely surprised and satisfied with how nicely they cut through the air, and really enjoy using these for faster tricks and spinning as they are much lighter than my monkey fists. I highly recommend having a pair of these as well as a heavier set for bigger flames and slower spinning, then switch to these for slightly smaller flames and less burn time, but the ability to do some intense tricks really fast and furiously. Enjoy!
