Very good beginner staff!Flows well around the body and the moonblaze wicks burn for a decent amount of time! Also delivery was super fast, had it within a couple day. Thank you Fire Mecca!

I really enjoy this staff. The moonblaze wicks are worth the extra money. They hold a lot of fuel for a good burn. This staff is very light which makes it a bit harder to control at high speeds. I'm just getting in to the flow arts and am very pleased with this as my first staff purchase.

Got the 5;, large moonblaze staff. Love this staff, I always come back to get a replacement when I inevitably abuse my current staff beyond it's limits. All around a great staff for speed spinning and some contact moves. My background is in martial arts, so the weight and size of the staff works great for me.

This staff was great! Shipping was pretty okay too, (arrived manufactured and shipped in ten days) which was perfect because I got it in time for a performance for a few friends of mine. I got the MoonBlaze head and it was made fantastically. The head was loose enough to gather as much fuel as possible but tight enough to maintain an incredibly long burn! The grip was great. There was no "holographic tape marking the center," instead it had what feels like black electrical tape, but I like this better because the colored tape would be distracting and probably not as "sticky" as the black tape. I got the five foot staff with 2 in heads, and can maintain a good burn for more than 10 minutes. Which is pretty awesome! (Not a bad price compared to shopping around either!)

Aluminum core gets very hot and when staff slipped out from my hands (I'm not used to such a light and thin grip) I tried to catch it to prevent from dropping, It burned my shoulder. The tape in the center came off on my very first day of spinning. But it balanced pretty good. Is there a way to make a grip out of wood?

The construction of the staff seems to be great, but two key elements keep me from giving a 5 star rating. It is VERY light, I suppose for some that can be a good thing, but in my thirteen years of staff spinning I've never used anything as light as this staff and I find it much harder to keep rhythm with and find myself suddenly dropping quite frequently, which I haven't experienced in many years! But I'm a power spinner and tend to spin much much faster than most people, so a heavier staff has always been my preference. The other thing I'm not very pleased with is the exposed screw heads/washers on the outside of the wick. This was my first staff purchase from Fire Mecca, and I've seen no mention of exposed metal over the wick on any descriptions. I have never been a fan of this style of wick attachment and have always avoided it. But on the plus side it does seem well constructed, and well balanced, with a good grip and I do feel it will last a long time. Though I don't foresee purchasing another rolled wick staff, down the road I may try the moonblaze wick with the inserted dowel for extra weight.

I ordered the basic staff with a permanent dowel inserted in it. This shipping was EXTREMELY FAST! I got it with the moonblaze wicks which I couldn't be happier with. They last at least 4-5 minutes on a full soak even with fast spinning. This staff is balanced really well which makes it great for toss up and everything else. Also, I have dropped this staff many many times even after toss ups and have yet to notice any signs of bending. Overall this is a great staff, especially for beginners. Not only did this staff make me enjoy spinning even more, its been great to learn on. Ive compiled some videos together of me spinning if anyone wants to see first hand what the moonblaze wicks can do. Also, I had EXCELLENT customer service! Not only did I get responses to many emails, but I was also informed of when my items were shipping. I couldn't be happier with Firemecca!

i really enjoy this staff. the balance was perfect and the fact that its light as hell made me very happy. the only reason i didn't give it a five is after a week of using it the blue tape at the center of the staff came off. other than that its great
